Deep Sea Minerals, Inc. (DSM) is a Delaware corporation dedicated to the environmentally responsible mining of seabed mineral deposits to meet the growing worldwide demand combined with declining reserves on shore. Development of commercial products from the unique organisms found near deposit sites is also a primary element of the venture. High densities of exotic biological communities, which have major economic potential, are found clustered about active hydrothermal vents. In parallel with mineral exploration and development, DSM will collect; store and screen microbes and other biological materials from vent communities and associated ecological niches to find potentially valuable biotechnical products.
