He
was named the official Texas State Photographer in 1997 by then
Governor George W. Bush and the 75th Legislature.
Internationally acclaimed as an author and photographer, Wyman
Meinzer's photographs have appeared in magazines since 1979 when
he was published in National Wildlife and Texas Parks & Wildlife.
For over twenty years, his work has graced the covers of more
than 250 magazines and books. His photos have appeared on 45 national
and international covers.
Of his 14 published works, his most recent books are Canyons of
the Texas High Plains, Wyman Meinzer: Eyes on Texas, and his first
black and whitebook entitled Contemporary Ranches of Texas.
Three new Meinzer titles are coming soon. Texas Rivers, with author
John Graves, will debut in July 2002 heralding the importance
of the precious waterways of Texas.
Wyman holds a degree in Wildlife Management from Texas Tech University.
He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Texas Tech
in Lubbock during regular sessions, as well as for the summer
Inter-Session on the Junction, Texas campus.
