From
Robert Clay Freeny's start in the Indian Territory, the
Stuart Ranch has expanded to include 40,000 acres of native
rangeland and wheat pasture in three Oklahoma counties.
It is the oldest ranch in the state under continuous family
ownership. Today's Stuart operation is recognized for excellence
in its approximately 2500 head of cattle grazed on three
ranch divisions and a cow herd of 1600 Hereford and black
baldy (Angus X Hereford cross) cows. All cattle work is
done horseback, so a top priority is the ranch's award-winning
working horse and performance horse breeding program.

You'll
piece together another part of the history of Big Ranch Country
when you hear the story of the trail drives at the Chisholm
Trail Heritage Center in nearby Duncan, Oklahoma. Then, let
your imagination come alive when you walk along the actual
ruts left by the travelers on the most famous cattle drive
route in the world! Stuart Ranch has preserved this important
part of western Americana the Chisholm Trail runs right
through the ranch! See it for yourself!

Rest and relax in the tranquility of old Indian Territory
|
Peacefully
remote locations with spectacular views are what to expect
of the accommodations in the distinctive environments
of
both the Waurika and Caddo ranches. The Stuart hunting
lodge is managed by the ranch's experienced outfitter.
He will
arrange hunts for deer, quail, waterfowl, hogs or turkeys.
Fishing and photography expeditions are also possible.
The
history of this pioneering family and their perpetuation
of ranching excellence will make this stop on the Oklahoma
frontier a lasting favorite.
