The Abilene ranch was once the well-known Hardy Grissom Ranch, an outstanding breeder of registered Hereford cattle from 1948 through the 1960s. Phil Guitar, son of Anita Grissom Guitar, is the third generation to manage the Guitar family's sprawling ranches also in Spur, Big Spring and Throckmorton.
Meanwhile...back at Guitar Ranch.

If you travel to the Abilene area regularly for business or for the variety of horse show competitions held at Taylor County Expo Center, your new home away from home can be at Guitar Ranch! The western-themed hunting lodge sleeps 6 individuals and the colorful, comfortable ranchhouse is fully equipped for a family of 4. Your business or competitive dealings are sure to improve when you feel like you're staying at home!

The great outdoors just got
a little closer to town.
Take off for just a day or a whole weekend for a hunt with Guitar Ranch's professional outfitter. He'll see to it that you have a great experience hunting deer, or a variety of fowl – turkey, quail, duck or dove. This ranch also offers great fishing for a day on the lake, without the travel time. Time away from the pressures of city life is easy to schedule when it's this close to Abilene.

It's miles and miles of Texas.
Close enough to get to quickly,
just far enough to getaway.
