Big Ranch Country Productions
In January of 2002, I made a series of pretty unbelievable life changes! First, I left my job with the Bayer Corporation, though I loved the company, the people I worked with and my responsibilities representing animal health products to veterinarians. Next, I put my house on the market and moved from big city life in Austin to my hometown of Guthrie -a very small town of 150 people in a county with a population of 356! I feel very fortunate to have been able to return to Guthrie to the ranch where I grew up, the famous and historic Four Sixes, to accomplish the most important change of all - launching my new company, Big Ranch Country Productions.

When hearing stories of my life as a youngster on "The Sixes," friends and acquaintances always seem to get a faraway look in their eyes and they usually respond with a statement such as, "that's always been my dream." The more I heard that from my friends in corporate America, the more I realized that going back to the ranch was a dream for me too. Within the last year, I also realized it is important to me to share my ranch experiences with others for whom the western way of life has never been more than an exciting story.

Big Ranch Country Productions
is dedicated to the preservation of ranching heritage. I have created a network of carefully selected, true, historic working ranches who, for the first time, are formally opening their gates to exclusive groups of visitors. Seven well known ranches in Texas and Oklahoma have signed-on to work with us to present one-of-a-kind, authentic ranch experiences. The ranches are private businesses whose history extends back more than a century and whose legacy will forever leave a mark on American tradition.

According to a group's size and their particular interests, we will arrange a custom-planned itinerary. An agricultural group, for example, may wish to tour the ranches and learn how and why they operate the way they do. Outdoor enthusiasts can set up hunting, fishing and photography expeditions in the wide open spaces! We can provide a setting for a relaxing weekend getaway for a couple or a memorable reunion for an entire family. A corporate retreat or client entertainment in Big Ranch Country is sure to be completely original and very impressive. Meeting space for business groups and organizations can be arranged and we are pleased to assist in developing meeting themes and creative presentations to enhance a group's visit. Cowboy cooking and genuine ranch hospitality are the hallmarks of our service, so many guests will be inclined toward a western cuisine cooking class at the cookhouse or the chuck wagon! We can also tie-in to annual activities in the area, such as rodeos and ranch horse competitions. Keep in mind, each ranch offers unique opportunities relative to their history and focus within the ranching industry. If you've seen one ranch, you have not necessarily seen 'em all!

Big Ranch Country Productions does not offer a "Dude Ranch" experience. Events are not staged, nor are visitors going to have a hands-on experience working the land or the livestock. Rather, education, entertainment, and relaxation in a ranch environment are our focus and our specialty!

The members of our network - ranches, museums and western retailers - all have a passion for preserving ranching heritage. All are interested in sharing their unique brand of Americana with those who have always dreamed of living the cowboy way, even if just for a weekend!

If you would like more background information after you look through our website, please don't hesitate to call me. Whether for business or family, or for a getaway strictly for your own enjoyment, you are invited to the wide open spaces of Big Ranch Country!
